Destiny is formed in a magnetic field. This field consists of Yin and Yang and hence one entails four pillars when one is born. The four pillars which are also known as eight characters (ba zi) are the year, month, day and hour of one's birth. Your life code is your four pillars; it is fated like a timetable. The combination of your four pillars doesn't only reflect your deeds and karmas; it also involves your ancestors, parents's deed and genes. Thus even for people who are born in the same year, same month, same day, and same time, it would also create a while different destiny. The difference of the four pillars changes one's destiny.
Destiny is your lifetime journey of assignment, for instance, some will always end up with the wrong person, some has never ending facing obstacles and failures and some always live in sorrow. All of these are your lifetime assignments, if you have yet to overcome or finish the tasks, it would reoccur again and again; if you have yet to finish the task by this lifetime, you are ought to continue it in your next life until it is all accomplished. This process is practiced by most religions and it is known as "cycle of birth and death". When you are given the ability to change a part of your destiny, it shows that you are one step closer in accomplishing the lifetime assignments. In order to do so, there is only one way - "The Law of Nature" to correct your unnatural doings. These unnatural doings are known to the religion as "sinful thoughts" whereas the philosophers address these as "attachment".
Man has to practice the law of nature as it is the only way to ensure your magnetic filed connects with the earth, sky and only through the connection one can twist its destiny.
